Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now a Romanian/German actress. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her showbiz career at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early at the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film featuring this divas. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally. The projects include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as in addition to the French historical miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
